Accord EX - highest model, all-time options (leather, alloys, etc)
LX - next down
DX is the bottom

LS and ES aren't used for the Accord I believe, I know there'south an Integra LS and there's many manufacturers out there that apply ES. It'due south all about the option packages that come with each model.

outset, I call up the Accord just comes in 60 and EX--there'due south no ES, LS(thought other manufacturers use these). The EX has more features as standard equipment and therefore a higher toll tag. And it has a few options available that aren't available on the Sixty.

So does the L stand for leather or something, and the S or Ten is automated or manual? Or do they just pick random letters for the stuff?

snakesnfrogs, I remember you might be right, the Civic comes in DX only now that I think almost it I don't recollect I've ever seen an Accordance DX...
 • #6
as with Civic,
DX low, Sixty midrange, EX highest..

for accords, DX is the merely 1 withOUT a V6 choice and equipped with a 135hp engine.
the rest (LX, EX) have at least a i4 150hp ane.
there's no DX Accord Coupe

oddly enough, the 200 hp v6 engine does not have Manuel Tranmission.

in that location'due south no LS/ES for Accord, and I can't remember which car has an ES model, but Alot of car manufacturer used similar naming system.

check carpoint.com, information technology got nearly basic car info there.

i recollect for the equivalent of Accord Dx is just accord, no threescore nor ex
LX has autotmatic stuff similar powered windows etc.
Lx doens't mean its leather, leather are similar actress options which price u extra.
EX is a V6, sixty is V4.
the mode they do Lx, Ex, for civics is very much the same way they would categorize it for accords.

I piece of work for a Honda supplier, and for u.s.a. Threescore, EX, and DX are just different door styles. The LX and EX are power window, and the DX is non. Equally for other features, I don't know. Except that the EX fabric on their doors is a lesser qulity. :)

Forgot to mention, Ex and Threescore, equally far as I know, don't come in leather, but LX comes in fabric and leather.

both Sixty and EX tin can take v6 or i4 engines, DX doesn't.

Geez, people are all over the map on this.

Accord comes in DX, LX, EX, EX-Fifty, 60 V6 and EX V6.

DX is the stripper and exists solely for price
LX is the breadstuff and butter model. Power windows/locks, AC, prowl, etc.
EX is the high trim level. 6CD, ABS, moonroof, alloys, etc. The I-4 also has VTEC
EX-Fifty is the same thing equally EX simply with leather
LX V6 is the same thing as the LX but with the V6 (and perchance something else similar traction command)
EX V6 is the same thing as the EXL merely with the V6, traction control and automatic climate control

You tin go either a transmission or an automatic with any of their four cylinder models (which is an I-4, not a V4). The V6 models only come with an automatic.

I have an EX-L manual.

Why not become to the Honda website and look there? There'southward so many differences in terms of standard options that it'south impossible to listing them all here.

dont forget the SE , but its only made every iii years.. (i think)

The differences are minimal -

-None have a turbo

-None are RWD or AWD

-None are very quick

-None handle that well

And then basically they all suck :p

<< -None are very quick

The V6 runs the quarter in the low 15's concluding time I checked, that's far from "not quick" and Hondas take some of the best handling when it comes to FWD, so I'd similar to ask you, "wtf are you smoking?"

Mmmm, that flamebait looks tasty!

ye don't demand to bother with these ppl...

Oh well i'm just used to RWD and AWD having owned a Skyline GTS-T and a WRX and having friends that own a Mitsubishi 3000GTO and an EVO 4 and a Skyline GT-R.

But you are correct in that Honda's do have among the best handling for a FWD packet.

I dont know about the sub-15's annotate though, at least here in Australia we aren't that fortunate (nosotros are the dumping ground for the worlds worst cars)

ES is a Dodge trim level. It's their sport/luxury line short of the R/T parcel.

vi, I've seen ES on Mitsu'due south before too

<< And then does the L stand for leather or something, and the South or Ten is automatic or transmission? Or practise they just pick random letters for the stuff? >>

To the best of my knowledge, the letters don't represent anything in detail. A lot of older cars used names like Bel Air, Special, Biarritz, LeBaron, etc. to differentiate between models.

I'm certain someone will correct me if I am wrong! :)

yeah, Mitsu-southward practice have ES,
funny matter, Mitsubishi and Dodge share engines in some auto, I didn't know they would share names likewise..

and this what I came upwardly b4 nigh Honda's naming structure

DX = Deluxe OR stanDard
LX = Luxury
EX = Elegance, Extraodrinary

merely Luxury definitely sounds better than the two Es though
